Is it really offline?
Yes. The speech model is downloaded once and runs on your Mac’s GPU. The only network calls are the model download and a one-time license activation. After that Talkloom works with no connection at all, and audio is never sent anywhere.
Which Macs does it run on?
macOS 13 or newer on Apple silicon (M1 and later). Intel Macs are not supported yet.
How accurate is it?
Talkloom runs the same class of speech model the paid cloud services run — the difference is that it runs on your machine. Accuracy depends on your microphone; a built-in or USB mic beats Bluetooth headsets.
Can I use it in Cursor, the terminal, or a browser?
Anywhere you can paste. Talkloom is a menu-bar app that types into the frontmost app, so IDEs, terminals, chat apps and forms all work.
Do I pay again for new versions?
No. Every future update is included in the one purchase, for as long as Talkloom is made. You never pay again, and there is no upgrade fee.
I got a new Mac. Do I buy again?
No. On the old Mac, open Settings and choose “Release this Mac”, then activate on the new one. If the old Mac is gone, just enter your key on the new Mac and choose “Release the other Mac and use it here”. It takes one click and no email.
Windows?
It is on the roadmap once the Mac version settles. Today Talkloom is Mac-only, on Apple silicon.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. The first ten dictations are free, no key and no account needed — setup walks you through one of them, so you hear how well it catches your voice before you pay anything. After that a license key unlocks it for good. If it still is not for you, email support within 14 days of purchase and we refund in full.
I cannot find the email with my license key.
Lemon Squeezy sends it right after the purchase. Search your mail for “Talkloom” or “Lemon Squeezy” and check the spam folder. If it is still missing, open app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders, enter the email you paid with, and they mail your order — key included — back to you. Copy the key and Talkloom picks it up from the clipboard on its own.
